Makes you wonder....... - A Pirate Aground In The City - pilot's Blog - Victoria Advocate

Has anyone kept up with the news down at the Harris County Jail, and the ensuing three day manhunt for the guy serving two death sentences? You know, the one who got his hands on a set of street clothes, put a piece of tape over the word "inmate" on his prison ID card, and had four different uniformed jail employees usher him out the FRONT DOOR of the jail.

Well the good news is he was captured this morning, but the bizarre twists to the story seem to keep coming. The first story on the TV this morning dealt with the question of whether he would waive his extradition rights and be returned to Houston. Extradition rights? HELLO - chain his butt to a bumper and DRAG him all the way back.

The next thing they speculated about was whether he would be facing more charges for his escape. You have to remember these are the same folks who showed him the door - then it doesn't seem quite as strange, that after they execute him twice, he'll have to serve another 90 days for escaping. I find myself wondering how he got to Louisiana, and how he got a bicycle. It wouldn't come as a real suprise to me if they find out he applied for and received a FEMA debit card on his way out of town.

Sleep tight citizens - your tax dollars are hard at work here in the city.
