This is how vampires are supposed to be done. They aren't glorified, or sensualized. These vamps are dark, gritty and scary as can be. They tear through anything and everything just because. Night descends upon Barrow, Alaska and lasts for 30 days. Plenty of time for the vamps to lay waste to this unsuspecting town. Blood is spilled, people die and the survivors try to last the month without getting killed. It's a good story, well directed, well acted, full of more emotion than one would come to expect in a movie like this. I was impressed with Hartnett, I didn't think he had the chops to carry this movie and he rose to the challenge like his character did in the film. There is one corny corny moment to speak of that marred the overall film a bit. (You'll know it when you see it, trust me) but all in all I was very happy with it. And you will be too.
