In the days before it was Jackie Chan who was a no stuntmen, no wires, all out action kind of guy, but he is well past his prime and his time in the spotlight. So who are our generation's Chan....
Tony Jaa, a Muay Thai martial artist and all around butt-kicker. If you haven't seen any of his movies (Ong-Bak, the Protector, Battle Warrior), then you are really missing out.
I submit for approval a display of this guy's talent. A scene from the Protector that was done in one take. A four-minute steadicam fight scene, it is just awesome. It took them weeks and weeks to plan and produce it, but it paid off.
Check the guy out, of course his movies aren't going to be Oscar winners, but for that genre you are just looking forward to fists and feet flying and bones breaking and this guy provides all that and so much more.
