K.J. Choi birdied the final hole to slip out of a four-way tie and grab the first-round lead at th ePGA Tour's Sony Open. Choi was in at 6-under 64, a shot ahead of Jimmy Walker, Heath Slocum and Steve Marino. Eight players are another shot back at 4 under and include Rory Sabbatini, Chad campbell, Steve Lowery, James Driscoll, Kenneth Ferrie, Mitsuhiro Tateyama, J.P. Hayes and last week's winner Daniel Chopra. Former two-time Victoria Open winner Ron Whittaker opened with a 73. As for my PGA Tour fantasy team it was another slow start except for Taylor Vaughn who finished at 3 under. Jim Furyk is at 2 under, Charles Howell III at 1 under, Pat Perez and Stephen Ames at even par and Jonathan Byrd is one over. Hopefully they will get going in Friday's round and all make a run toward the top of the leaderboard.
