Earlier this week I stopped by Whataburger on my way home to get a snack and I experienced something that still has me shaking my head in disbelief.
I was in the drive-thru lane waiting to give my order when I heard the guy in the car ahead of me order a hamburger with five - yes, FIVE patties!
This guy looked fairly small and fairly young, but looks can be deceiving.
When I heard “five patties” I started listening closer to make sure I was hearing what I thought was.
He wanted a No. 2- double meat double cheese, plus three patties. Then I heard the clerk say “are you sure?”
So by the time they finished his order, he had a triple-meat, triple-cheese burger meal with two extra patties, an order of fries and a Sprite.
The clerk kept asking him if he was sure that is what he wanted and he kept saying yes.
As I got my order, I asked the clerk to verify what I had heard. And she verified it - appearing to still be in shock from the order. She said that he...
