Most of my work is at pits supplying backfill material for our jobsite. The dust is often as fine as talcum powder that the winds carry unmercifully. The resulting dust storms often cause our construction project to be closed for the day. One "pit "is on level ground surrounded by a 30 to 50 foot high wall of dirt. It now resembles a huge bowl with holes in about one third of the wall, a result of all the material which has been removed. This makes the winds to swirl around. Tumbleweeds and styrofoam coffee cups do funny dances blowing up and down the slopes, hardly ever clearing the tops of the rim of the pit. The unpredictable winds are the cause of frequent Aggie Showers. Mucho fun.
