Note I didn't use the word "hero" as a few have tried to have to insert there. There is nothing heroic about shooting an unarmed person in the back. I have not seen the interview with Diane Sawyer. I don't doubt that that is only the first of many appearances he will make, talking about what he did, and trying to put a spin on it justifying it. What I have heard, is the 911 tapes - over and over, and what I hear in those is a scolding, threatening, admonishing tone, and not fear for his own life. There are a number of dynamics in play here that can be controversial in their own right. I understand the victims of the shooting were illegal immigrants. Many will point to that and say that they had it coming..... The whole thing unfolded as a police officer watched. Why didn't he try to intervene? On the other hand, had he not stopped them, or the police officer not done so, we would be talking about another "victim" the homeowner whose home was broken into. I...
