If Ebay didn't already offer almost anything and everything, the online auction community gained a new type of user, the airline jetBlue. (*hat tip: Drudge Report) The biding begins between 5 and 10 cents for trips to more than 20 destinations. Unfortunately, I couldn't find Texas as a destination or starting point when I searched the flights. I guess I won't be bidding on any weekend escapades. This step by jetBlue seems to be the first in the right direction for using online auction sites to enable customers to get a great deal on trip they might not have taken otherwise. But the limits, such as no decision to choose travel dates or destinations, really narrows the national market to 20 cities across the U.S. I'm sure that's more than enough of a market for the more than 300 roundtrip tickets, according to the AP, up for grabs. Still I wonder: What about the rest of us? Couldn't Texas have gotten a little love jetBlue?
