The weather channel is predicting that Ike is turning towards Galveston/Houston metro area. I know it's a huge storm and we'll still feel some effects from it but I don't think we'll get what everyone originally thought...good news. Newscenter 25 is still thinking we're in serious trouble but they need to listen to the PH D's on the weather channel. I was about the have a heart attack but now I'm hearing we're on the good side of this hurricane. My husband said we don't need to evacuate because the traffic on the roads leading out of here are going to be packed with all the people leaving from everywhere else. He went into town earlier and picked up ice, batteries, non-perishables and propane. He bought so much water I think we might have enough for a week if we need it. We talked to a few people in our neighborhood who said they weren't leaving either. I guess we've all decided to ride this one out ...thanks to all the trouble we had...
