Looking back on my childhood, the best times I had with my parents were when we spent time together doing something we both enjoyed.
Parents have always looked for ways to spend time with their kids - sports, hunting, fishing, shopping, going to the movies, etc. And it seems a more technological culture is introducing new ways for families to spend time together - playing video games.
I just listened to this report over at NPR.org that talks about a family enjoying the game Rock Band.
From making their own customizable "rockers" to picking their band's name, the game offers many ways for families to have fun as a whole. (Heck, even watching from the sidelines is a lot of fun with this game.)
I am, self-diagnosed, a game-aholic. Much to the lament of my mother still, I sometimes neglect the more mundane tasks of adult life, such as dishes and laundry, for the fun of a video game. This is probably why my mom still calls to ask if I've been eating well. She's...
