I agree with you, Bj. Hollywood has found a formula for successful movies, and it just now pushes new actors through it's mega money-generating machine and churns out crappy rehashes and meaningless junk.
It's rare you get a good plot-driven movie anymore. I saw a trailer recently for a movie about a journalist ... do you know what movie I'm talking about? If so, what's it called? It looked pretty good.
The last Will Smith movie I liked (and I actually like most of his movies, drama and comedy) was "The Pursuit of Happyness." Clever title using the misspelling of happiness. Just like the movie, a lot of thought and attention were given to storytelling.
It's too bad he's sinking to Daniel-san levels. But I like that he's attracted to projects that he can do with his son, unless he's just exploiting the kid. It doesn't seem like it, though.
