Mrs. Walentovic and her son were very brave coming forward, and I applaud this courage! More parents need to know that this school system is failing our children on many levels. Parents that complain, or demand answers are labeled as "trouble", "overbearing", and lord knows what else they say about us...Us because I've complained as well and got NO WHERE! And yes, I've been told, this is a direct quote: " A physcians' note/recommendation does NOT supercede District Policy". The school doesn't care about the physcial/psychological/emotional needs of our children. The only thing they care about is getting those federal funds for every desk that is filled and every passing grade on the TAKS.
Having said that, I'll apologize in advance to those teachers and principals who, though few and far between, actually do care and go out of their way to help the parents and students.
