This isn't about a child being afraid of thunderstorms.... he has a phobia about them... phobia's are can be very serious, and especially so in the eyes of a child... but it goes beyond that: The child has been going to the SAME school for more than 5 years. In the past, there was a plan of action if the weather got bad... in this plan, the teacher was supposed to reassure the young man and keep him calm. This plan has been in effect and had worked in the past. For some reason, back in september, when Victoria was hit by several days of bad weather, the teacher failed to put the contingency plan into action. This young man felt terrified and betrayed and he did not feel safe. I know Mrs. Walentovic, and she did everything in her power to get her son to go back to school! She was even willing to sit in the classroom with her son so he would feel safe... THE PRINCIPAL REFUSED TO ALLOW THIS!
I'm curious, twocents, it's NOT okay for this young man to receive homebound...
