Hello Aprill,
Certain topics do set people off. I wonder how much the letter writer really THOUGHT about what he wrote before he sent the letter. If he didn't think much MAYBE he sees the hillarity in some of the points he made.
If he DID think deeply about what he wrote, then the man does need a bit of a cultural update.
I think the women's movement brought a host of great things. One of the last things I want to HAVE to do is depend on a man for my livelihood and have no other way to support myself. I have to thank my mom for teaching me independence and realizing that women need to be able to take care of themselves.
I also think the women's movement has its flaws. One of them is that a huge group of women are not able to denounce the targeting of female children in the womb for abortion. As you might know, female fetuses are chosen over males, mainly in China and Asia, because of economic or cultural reasons. All months of gestation have been up for "grabs."
