I agree with a lot of your points John,but I don't really worry about the GOP ,because their numbers are dropping and the new Democratic voters are away up. I think Barack Obama will be able to sway more independent voters that John McCain or Hillary Clinton.
This country is long overdue a discussion on race. Why? Because no one wants to hear the struggles of the 1950s, instead, they want to start in the1990s..... I can understand the anger over reverse discrimination policies that we have in place today, but legislators are scared to reverse them. Perhaps it's time to do away with affirmative action, but first we must make it known that that program was a necessity at one time ,in order to level the playing field. I just had a person tell me today (38 years old) he didn't know things of the nature that Jeremiah Wright was talking about, actually took place. When we have the discussion., It must be civil without using in-your-face tactics.
