FLIER,
Have you spoken with Dr. DeLos Santos? You may want to. The reason she didn't vote had nothing to do with ethics.
Policy is written and approved at the district level to take the guesswork out of "what is right or wrong". I understand ethics, but the policy is black and white. And on the issue of abortion....there are some instances where an abortion might be the right choice. However those decisions are made by the parent....not the doctor.
I am not speaking for Dr. Jaynes, however I know him to be an upstanding citizen and I am 100% positive that he will uphold the law and all VISD policies. I want to make sure that the truth is known. VISD has many other motions /issues that come before them. They vote on compensation packages one time each year. The distict has a chief financial officer to guide them regarding fiscal issues...including raises and teacher pay, the board plays a very small role in that process.
