First, to your sciatic nerve. Man oh man, health "professionals" will go to town on that one. Hopefully, it's not serious. Two years ago I went to a chiropractor because I had very drama pain in my lower back that radiated down my right leg. It was excruciating at times. Sitting hurt, standing hurt, walking somehow helped. The chiropractor pushed and pulled and finally placed me on the rack, put electrodes on my shoulders for massage and then sent me home with this advice: Put a cold compress on my lower back where the actual pain was originating, probably in the area of the sciatic nerve, and use that as "home physical therapy." Fifteen minutes on, fifteen minutes off. I did that and it seemed to help. When I saw him just one more time he repeated everything from the first visit and once again emphasized the ice pack treatment.
