I had not kept up with what had happened until reading the story today. I think if he is guilty he should be punished. I do not know who/what/when the victim was or what Ratcliff did on the Internet. However his plea bargain definitely indicates if he said previously he did not do it, then he was lying and he did it – what ever it was. This is like a Bill Clinton affair. So I read about the sinner and the judge.
Out of curiosity, I googled Judge Mark Luitjen who is the circuit judge. I like the title circuit judge –reminds of the horse and buggy days. Speaking of horses and buggies which will Judge Luitjen think is more important in this case? A human or a horse? Any side bets? Never mind betting is illegal too. The reason I am asking is below is an excerpt on how he treated a man who did not feed and care for his horses.
