No, I was not demeaning anyone. There is a reason that there is a special bus for challenged students, who by no choice of mine or their own would not function well in the general school populus and at the same curriculum the rest of the students do. Similarly, there was established the Special Olympics, for the sole and wonderful purpose of involving those challenged ones in an event where they may realize the joy and challenge of competition and be rewarded for their accomplishments. Be it Downs Syndrome, or any number of other birth defects that put that segment of God's children in a different place than the rest of the population, they are thought no less of by me and all decent people. Their families, educators, and caregivers, and the other people who go out of their way to make those folks' lives better, are saints in my book.
