Albertsons was always clean because no one ever went there. It was too expensive for Victorians. My first checking account was at the IBC in Albertsons and I was always there when I needed to go to the bank and there was never a line for anything in Albertons. Everyone was at HEB because it was cheaper. When I worked at HEB we had customers every single moment of the day...non stop. At night, when you were closing, is when you'd find all the crap that customers do....like hiding meat behind the chip bags because they were too lazy to go back and put it up....by the time we'd find it its rotting and gross.
When I was a senior in HS our economics teacher had us do a little homework assignment where we went to Walmart, HEB, and Albertsons to compare prices on the exact same items. Albertsons was more expensive in every single category. I'm not surprised they didn't last in Victoria. I think I remember a bottle of Tylenol being $2 more at Albertsons than HEB.
