My father was hurt badly at one of the area plants (a really big one, that employs lots of people) years ago, in the construction part. A serious back injury. He tried to work, but the pain was too severe. After missing a few days of work, he was laid off from his job. A reduction in workforce.
The next thing you know bills started becoming over due. He lost his home. His medical bills were gaining on him. He lived in a travel trailer for a year. Then he hired a lawyer........They sued, turns out this company didn't report a lot of their injured workers. Makes their sign look good when it reads "200 days with no injuries!" Needless to say, my dad won a settlement, not enough to stop working, after multiple back surgeries. But he got back on his feet again. So call your lawyer and see if you can afford a Doctor. That's what they used to say in the oil field.
