About Chris
I am the editor of the Victoria Advocate, a family-owned newspaper in south Texas serving the Crossroads region. I've had this privilege since April 2007. I enjoy community newspapering because you're closer to your readers and can make a bigger difference in your corner of the world. The Web offers even more opportunities for engaging readers, and I hope to hear from all of you. A constructive community conversation makes the world a better place for us all.
Before coming to Victoria, I served as editor and later online publisher of the Greeley (Colo.) Tribune and managing editor of the Denton (Texas) Record-Chronicle. I also worked previously for newspapers in Fort Collins, Colo.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Colorado Springs, and my hometown, Topeka, Kan.
I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. During basketball season, you'll find me cheering on the Jayhawks. (During football season, I'm more of a fickle fan.) I had the honor of continuing my education at Harvard University as a Nieman Fellow in 2005-2006.
The picture associated with my blog is of my family, my most precious treasure.

I noticed that I hadn't placed tags on all my blog posts, so I reviewed them and brought them up to date. Then I decided to see what some of the different tags were. I couldn't find a way to see them nor a method to search all blogs based on tag titles. Looks like you left something out on this forum program.
Also there's no EASY way to find a particular blogger or a members profile - no alphabetical list, only an updated profile list that requires enough scrolling to cause carpal tunnel syndrome. Any chance that these issues can be resolved?

What is the status of the Advocate request to see the documents thatthe D.A. sent back to the Police Chief? Is Tyler trying to keep them from the public with some sort of claim about confidentiality of information about the victims?
I assume that if the court provides you with access to them you would either be required to redact that kind of information or choose to do so, in order to prevent embarrassing the victims involved.
