I'm a newspaper newbie, but learning fast.  I've already had several careers, including energy business, software products, and now newspapers.  I love learning new things - it keeps you sharp.  This latest career change, if it doesn't kill me, has definately made me stronger.

I have a wonderful wife that keeps me in line - I'd be lost without her.  She and I are raising two great kids that are growing like weeds.  I love traveling with her, and look forward to traveling with the rest of the family as they get older and easier to get on the move. 

My favorite hobby is surfing, which is ironic since I live in Texas, many miles from the beach.  Most other outdoor activies are a suitable alternative, including fishing, hunting, moutain biking, golf, and snowboarding.

My other secret hobbies is music.  I'm a closet musician that grew up playing piano, then trumpet, then guitar, then bass.  Most recently, much to my wife's chagrin, I'm trying out the drums!
