About Moises

As a child Moises (Moses to most people) Veloz lived all over Texas - all before the age of nine. Born in Dallas in 1971, he lived in the suburb town of Mesquite for his first few years. Then a short time in Dallas. He's lived in Midland and San Antonio, but always ended up back "Home" to Mesquite. Each move was pretty hard for a very shy kid, always being a new student and never long enough to make good friends. Finally, in 1979 his mother took her family to the town where she grew up in in the same house she grew up in.
Victoria is where Moises' mother was from. Her father and step-mother still lived there. Spending so many years as a divorcee looking for a home she can afford and raise her five kids, her daddy gave her her childhood home he still owned. This was very new for Moises, but this is where his family finally settled into for the rest of his childhood.
Moises went to Hopkins Elementary, then to Patti Welder Intermediate, and finished his education at Stroman High in 1989. Following the footsteps of his younger life, he made choices that took him to California for two years, Georgia for one until he decided to stay put in Victoria. But in 1994, he got his very first computer and soon after met a young woman on AOL. She was from Pittsburgh, PA. The bravest move he endured followed right after. Thinking he had nothing to lose and not much holding him back he decided to leave his beloved Texas and move to be with his girlfriend in Pennsylvania. It was the hardest move ever. But at the time he thought is was easy. He's lived there ever sense. He's married now and has kids. But the hope of moving back to Texas never fades him.
