Hey Frank,I went to IHop this morning and I heard several people speaking Spanish around me. I don't think IHop asked them to leave LOL

This is great.I post opinions and I get one guy calling me ludicrous, paranoid and an immigrant basher and another using foul language, cussing at me and calling me a wuss and wanting to kick my a$$. LMAO.
If there is one thing I like better than discussing social issues is exposing the hate that is really inside those professed compassionate liberals. What really cracks me up is that the people that call me an immigrant basher would find your post perfectly acceptable in its tone and language.
BTW “RedRage00” since you use your real name, LIVE in Victoria and don’t hide behind the computer screen I must confess,,, my real name is FRANK and I LIVE in Victoria. How about you go up to the next person you see speaking spanish in HEB that you THINK is illegal and tell them to get out of your country LOL I doubt you have the balls to do something like that.I should go out and marry an illegal immigrant just so she could get her papers LOL. Let's face it we are living in a time in which evil lurks around every corner, instead of every other corner as in the past. Is it the illegal hispanics fault? No...not even! If we look at the crime rate it is not the illegal hispanics causing the problem, it's our own home grown Americans: red, white, and blue. These illegal hispanics are just looking for a way to make money the old fashioned way.......by hard work. A lot of American's don't even want to work. The problems the illegal hispanics have is that they may not know the proper procedures of becoming legal, the process requires cash up front, and the process is lengthy. Even though they may need to be returned to their country, this does not mean they need to be hunted down like animals. In the end we all still belong to one race..."the human race". "God don't like ugly!"

This is exactly why I brought up that question.I know that it has made it very hard for those who have come over to our country legally or illegally...However I really believe that it has made it unjustly hard on those Americans of Hispanic Decent who often agree that the illegal aliens should go back.
By the way the aliens come from other countries OTHER than Mexico and if you ask me...the worst atrocities committed against this country were by legal aliens from middle east countries.

Two things will answer the illegal problem.1. Start a "guest" worker program by which an employer will pay for health and accident insurance prior to allowing an immigrant to enter the country.
2. Fine the living sh-t out of employers that hire illegals.
Both problems solved. The problem is that our political leaders lack the balls to face down the leaders in the industries that are getting "fat" out the backs of illegals, will breaking our health and welfare systems.
The questions put forth by the VA is shameful. Hispanic legals I presume is meant to be refering to "green" card workers, or resident aliens. I believe these folks to be a very small number, and they understand that there are certain restrictions by which they are allowed to stay in this country. As would I, living in a foreign land.
If the VA is meaning hispanics born here? I don't think I would refer to them as "legal" residents. I thought we refered to folks like this as AMERICANS!

Oh pshaw! I posted my answers to this illegal immigration problem in response to Mike's blog entry of a few days ago. Be-bop over there 'n read it if you've a mind to. I'm not gonna type all that folderol again.In short though, I agree with Mike. (dammit!) *We* have a lot of blame in this problem because we (the US gov't) continue to allow our homegrown industries - and even our citizens - to flaunt the laws against employing illegal immigrants by levying punitive fines that are hardly more inconvenient than swatting a fly against those very few that are caught blatantly doing so. And why wouldn't they? Industry can realize millions in profits from cheap, unbenefitted workers and, in the unlikely event they ARE caught, be fined a small percentage of their take. It's gotta stop and it's only gonna stop if the fines are larger than the profits and repeat offenders have their businesses - or homes - seized and sold at public auction.
Shut off the DEMAND for them and the SUPPLY of illegal aliens will dry up and blow away like a fa...errr... like flatulence in a whirlwind.

Some of the nicest people I've ever met have been illegal immigrants.Frank, illegal immigrants come from many different countries. Why do you only have the Mexican flag on your avatar? You should consider a more universal avatar for ALL illegal immigrants from all countries. :)

Population of the U.S. in 1860’s : 31.4 million
Percentage of blacks in the 1860’s: 14.1 %
Percentage of other minorities: 9.6 %
Oblivious: “lacking active conscious knowledge or awareness”
Oh well, some people just don’t care what happens to their neighbor down the street as long as it doesn’t come through THEIR door.

I think it is the Hispanics that speak broken English who get discriminated on the most. The sad part is most of them were born right here in the USA. In all honesty the only way to truly distinguish an illegal from a legal is to look at their papers. Right? Don't stereotype or assume based on what they are wearing or what language they speak at the grocery store.

No human being likes the in your face demands, that’s human nature, regardless of country.
The United States has an aging workforce of age 55 years and older with a smaller pool of younger workers to replace them. This country is in dire need of workers to do the menial jobs allowing our citizens to do the more productive and higher paying jobs.http://www.aarp.org/money/c...
Massive raids on the companies that are breaking our wage and labor laws could put a damper on the problems of illegal immigration, freeing our local law enforcement to direct its attention to protect and serve the city and county of Victoria.
Leaving the spigot open, and just going after the flow will never work. The defeated comprehensive immigration reform bill allowed for 18 months of border enforcement only, such as putting in electronic surveillance equipment , implementing the biometric tamper proof cards and readers, hiring more border agents and employer sanctions, before any type of work visas could be brought up. This could have been the attrition that many were looking for. Our Congress left this on the table for status quo.
To compare a few million slaves in 1800s to the present day job demands is ludicrous.
Victoria County did not remain stagnant, its population is growing, and with that comes higher crime. Then again, we now have 9/11, cell phones, helicopters, the media and a lot more resources to fight this battle.
I am not worried;the next generation will do quite well in this new multicultural country.

I totally disagree with Emett Alvarez statements.First: Unfortunately as more legal and illegal so called “Hispanics” get in the face of Americans and tell them (not ask) what rights they should have and how criminals should be treated. The more distrust, resentment, and yes, hate will grow in Americans of all backgrounds.
Second: The economy will not falter or crumble if ALL the illegal aliens were sent back to their own country. Those who say illegal aliens are doing the jobs Americans won’t do mimic word for word what the slave owners said about picking cotton, corn and potatoes if the slaves were set free in the 1800’s. We all know the country still prospered after emancipation.
And third: It is the duty of the local sheriff and police to pursue, arrest and otherwise search out those that break the law. Those that say local law enforcement should not get involved with seeking out and arresting illegal aliens because it is a Federal problem are trying to distract and confuse the public. Pornography, illegal drug manufacturing /sales and drug trafficking are all federal crimes. Yet local law enforcement is involved in prosecuting these crimes.
My children are growing up in an America worse than what is was when I grew up. The way things are going my grandchildren will grow up in an America worse than the America they grew up in. Think things are getting better, not worse? Then take a walk in your neighborhood late at night alone, go home and leave the doors unlocked and the windows open and go to sleep. Scary isn’t it!
