"It's the color of his skin. Damn, what a surprise!
This is 2008, not 1908, right?"

I have talked to people who are voting for Barrack Hussein Obama just because he is black, or half black. And Hillary Rodham Clinton just because she is a woman(?).

Now, racist and sexist goes both ways whether or not the progressive libs think. I know some of you think racism can only be white on everybody else. But if you do it just because of race, color or sex then you are an 'ist period. From personal experience on the receiving end, I know.

Maybe some of you need to print this out, fast and meditate on it for a week so you can free your thinking up. Got mine years ago from the free thinking black man vastly more educated and understanding of economics and The Constitution than the Dem prez candidates.

Obama clames he never personally heard his spiritual adviser delivered News Max ran a story last year placing O'B at one of Wright hate america tirades.
Contrary to Senator Barack Obama’s claim that he never heard his pastor Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. preach hatred of America,

"Obama was in the pews last July 22 when the minister blamed the “white arrogance” of America’s Caucasian majority for the world’s suffering, especially the oppression of blacks
NewsMax writer Mr. Davis stands by his story that during one of the services he attended during the month of July, Senator Obama was present and sat through the sermon given by Rev. Wright as described in the story. Mr. Davis said Secret Service were also present in the church during Senator Obama's attendance. Mr. Davis' story was first published on Newsmax on August 9, 2007. Shortly before publication, Mr. Davis contacted the press office of Sen. Obama several times for comment about the Senator's attendance and Rev. Wright's comments during his sermon. The Senator's office declined to comment.." I bet they wouldn't

It ain't the crime it the coverup attempt that gets um.

Obama is forced to try to walk a very fine line in defining him self. After all, before Obama was a half-black guy running in a mostly white country he was a half-white guy running in a mostly black neighborhood. At that time, associating with a very large, influential, local church with black nationalist overtones was a clear political asset. Now he is confronted with tryin to disasociate him self to satisify the whites while still trying to appear "black enough" to satisfy the racist vote of the black community. I say racist because when anyone says they will vote or not vote for Obama because of which ever of his half white, half black side that is racist.

No TomC,

I generally do NOT go back and forth with the little nitpicking he said she said that goes on in these forums. which is why you see one main post from me and thats it.

What VPDCop/Luminary did however was to make some very serious if baseless charges of criminality that did need to be addressed. I have adressed them and now I am done. Tom, stop trying to keep this going, as Southtexas pointed and (as did you) this is an Obama forum.

You wanna keep making personal attacks I will just start reporting and stop responding.
I have not made personal attacks on anyone here. not even Luminary other to to show he is wrong.

Southtexas,

I was talking about Obama.

my only mention of Tyler was in responce to someones claim that people hide anonymously behind fake names in these forums. I brought up that I for one do NOT hide behind fake names as anyone on the Tyler forums would attest to.

Thats it.

I was not talking about Tyler himself or anything else.

Your boy VPDCop under his new guise as luminary did that and made all kinds of false and potentially lawsuit worthy statements and turned this forum into a Tyler situation. of course I had to respond to his false allegations.

reign your boy in.

I will be more than happy to leave Tyler to the Tyler Forums and keep this About Barak.

cranepoolandschmidt...You sent me an e-mail to my personal account just a couple of days ago implying I was Tyler. Now you are saying Luminary is Tyler. I guess your next arguement will be that Tyler is in these forums under several different names, right? Perhaps if you identified yourself then more people may be willing to ID themself. Until then, stop with the guessing games. Also, what if the AG reverses himself and supports Tyler?  Will you  "hang your head in disgrace" as you leave defeated? I doubt it....you will come up with some excuse...some "conspiracy" theory...to cover yourself.  And....to Luminary......what does Tyler/Ratcliff have to do with this news article???

PERHAPS OBAMA WAS MOLESTED BY OUR SHERIFF WHEN HE WAS ATTENDING SCHOOL IN HAWAII....

I KNOW...OBAMA IS CONSIDERING TYLER AS HIS V.P. RUNNING MATE....

Luminary, lets see aren't you actually Michael, maybe Melanie or Kathleen? Possibly, TYLER, himself!!   Here posting along, I think I see one of Tyler's siblings. LOL! Geeze, Tuesday, I'll be there, watching you and yours! Can't wait for the media to greet brother Steve as he hangs his head in disgrace and leaves defeated! Now, he will know just how the many victims felt who never got a chance to be heard. Well, Stevie you didn't EVER want the public to know WHY you declined to prosecute a great portion of cases. Those disparaging remarks about victim's and YOUR opinion(s) of them. And the derogatory comments concerning a victim's *worthiness* to even be represented. What power you wielded! Maybe now many, many victims who were denied their right to have their cases presented will finally see some minute form of justice work for them as you crawl away in shame. The AG has already already ruled once against you and said for you to release the information. Instead you grandstanded, blamed law enforcement, sat on cases for months, and then busily formed a task force, *Operation Carnival Watch* to investigate carnival rides. What a circus performer you are, Tyler. Just want you to remember, Tyler, that taxpayers have been waiting for Tuesday to come. Even your *own team* have been distancing themselves from ya, hasn't it felt somewhat strained around the ole office lately?

Ok Luminary, or should I say VPDCop...

I know its you. dont deny.

I am not consumed with hate. I do not have a personal vendetta with Tyler. I just believe he is incompetent and is doing a very poor job that is bringing harm to the Victoria Community. And yes some of his activities we have uncovered, borders on criminal violations.
I am not ashamed or embarrassed because I am not making a fool of myself. the only fool is you pretending to be a cop and now pretending to be a 400 yead dead fortune teller. you should be ashamed of your lies and distortions such as this very post I am responding to.

I have made no hollow public promises to bring charges against Tyler. There will be charges listed in the petition for removal. We have said what some of those are and Strangley, Tylar has taken steps to remedy and correct them.
(Affidavit, Refusal of cases, Refusal to recuse in Ratcliff trial). Sorry Tyler but you actions already go to show your incompetence regardless of your later reversing yourself.

We are not going to give away everything we have before we are ready (when we File you will know) We are not ready yet, we are close and we are awaiting some upcoming events. It would be stupid to file right now rather than waiting for March 18th and see if those notes are released, some of what is in those notes is evidence for us against Tyler.

We also have witnesses who have come forward and have made written statements to Tylers misdeeds that are a violation of law. Specifically in the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Then you pathetically go on and try to scare me with mentioning the Patriot act and RICO act.

What have I done that is illegal?
Myself and others are using Chapter 87 of the Local Government Code. This is Perfectly legal and is our RIGHT.

RICO act involves laws against Oganized Crime (Mafia) and gang activity. We are neither. we are citizens exercising our due rights under the law.

Maybe you had better watch yourself as your continuing on this line of smearing myself and others publicly can result in a defamation of character lawsuit against you.

I know who I am and so does everyone else.

SouthTexas: Would love for you to come have a chat with our nephew. He (finally) completed his GED after much harassing by his aunt Juliie and me. I've told him often that screwing up his chances for a HS diploma is a setback that he can't do over but just because he's starting behind doesn't mean he can't catch up. Your examples would certainly shore up my argument! Besides, if he can get to a position making seven figures maybe he can support me for a change! :-)

Hello MaryAnn How do you do? Well we agree that most people who post such vehement comments on here are afraid to sign their names to their views. I really question how much such posters really believe what they post if they refuse to be identified with their views. You mention kooks "out their". Plenty of "kooks" in here. The Advocate provides public publication for any "kook" who wishes to write but refuses to be identified. MaryAnn you have been around these forums long enough to see the abuse I have taken from these anonymous posters. Called a liar, a troll, mental patient etc. The Advocate did step in and forced an apology from the liar shouter(when I provided proof of my posts) and removed some of the other insulting posts. But the writers are still posting their anonymous views. But would the insults have been written in the first place if it was necessary for the posters to sign their names to them?

But no matter how it is sliced, diced, pureed or rationalized when you get down to it the writers are just flat AFRAID to sign their names. NOTARY SOJAC

In RE GEDs What would you think of someone who openly boasted on here of failing the GED test 3 times. How intelligent would you judge this very prolific poster to be?And how serious would you consider his unsigned comments?

According to Obama he sat for 20 years patting his foot and crying "you preach the truth brother" and giving thousands of dollars to this church and now when he is running for president he never heard a word about any of the race hatred, anti American comments. The good rev said FDR lied about Pearl Harbor that they knew the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbor.

Let's don't get ugly Mark.....my son's friend who got a "just a GED" just graduated with a Masters in Electrical engineering from U.T. Another friend of his who "just got a GED" is now making seven figures a year for a computer software firm as one of their lead designers and programmers. Sometimes GED's are required because people are young and stupid....but then mature and get their act together. A GED is no sign that you are not intelligent.

Mike:The fact that McCain has been supported by some of the more fanatic Christians and the fact that Obama attended church for 22 years and financially supported his beyond radical, unAmerican hatemongering pastor hardly correlates. Your grasping at straws Mike-O.

Even if the pastor retired...which he has not. Obama is still responsible for the choices he and his wife made.

If anyone is bringing up race and making this a racist campaign, it is the Democrats not the Republicans.....

Hillary is a Hawk and the Cliintons are right of center.  Oh Mikey.....you just crack me up.....Where do you come up with this tripe?

The pastor has not retired He is on leave to help with Obama's campaign.
I cannot imagine for a minute how Obama and his wife could sit through a sermon like this and not get up in disgust and walk out. Nor can I imagine for a minute that any of these clips of sermons delivered by Jeremiah Wright were isolated.

A man of character would have stood up and denounced this man Jeremiah Wright for being a bigot, a racist and wholly unAmerican. Because Obama continued to support Wright's church with thousands of dollars in tithes and offerings for 20 years tells me a lot about his character and the character of his wife.

I am sickened to hear speech like this, and coming from a pastor who is purported to be a man of God.

Someone mentioned that the pastor had been a Marine. Big whoop Lee Harvey Oswald,Jeffrey Dahmer, David Berkowitz, Charles Whitman, and Timothy McVeigh also served in the Army....service alone does not automatically make you an honorable man. By the way Obama's race and color keeps coming up. What race is he anyway?

I question Obama's judgment not leaving that church ,but at the same time I question John McCain for repudiating the agents of intolerance in 2000, but accepting  their endorsements in 2008.

I think Obama has problems, but I see a lot of, "I told you so" racism in some of these post.  It doesn't mean I'm correct.   But....sure reads that way.  I don't agree with many things I hear coming from the pulpit, I have to struggle with some things I hear.  Did that happen to Obama?  I don't know, but I can't pretend to know what is in his heart.  It could be he and his wife just aren't ready for the microscopic, tabloid type journalism that has taken over our countries "journalist". Either way, Obama has a losing situation:

a) He's sat in church and contributed to a pastor making "God ---- America" comments and never realized what was being said. Does this mean he doesn't LISTEN when he's in church?

For Obama to have been a member for all this time and never heard anything resembling the comments aired recently is to incredible to believe.

b) He's sat in church and heard the comments and either agreed with them then, or dismissed them but still kept going to the the church.

These aren't loose cannon mistakes made by a renegade preacher, but this is the TEACHING of Obama's pastor.

Obama and the preacher are Democrats? Nuff said. Obama has more than just being a member connection to the hate filled racist ranting of this preacher. Mike was just a member and if he knew probably protested the one sent to his church. Then V Vet tried to turn it into a racial thing against Obama. VVet it is the Rev Wright Obama's spiritual adviser, receiver of tens of thousand in donation from the Obamas who is preaching racial hatred. Haven't you read any of his sermons acussing the white man of delibrately infecting Blacks with HIV etc? Vote against Obama because of his color? Tell me just what color is Obama? Is it a racist thing that so many blacks plan to vote for him because of his race. What ever that is. I am not disingenuous....and I certainly never said I was going to vote for a Democrat....I will vote for McCain...even though he leans a little too far to the left for me on some things....perhaps the party can keep him in line.

Actually Mike....I am what you call a rather liberal Republican....now don't wet yourself!!! I am pro-choice and I feel that the Republican stance on stem cell research is archaic and wrong, wrong, wrong.....I also feel that Bush's immigration policy needs some big time revamping.

But you have to admit...G.W. stepped into office, brand new, and had to face one of the biggest crises that America has ever experienced....a brutal attack on our own soil.....and, in spite of the criticism...and there are decisions he has made that have not been perfect....we have not suffered additional attacks at the hands of an entity who has vowed to wipe us Americans from the face of the earth....If you don't believe it read the Koran....have you read the Koran Mike?....I would recommend it. It is good to know your enemy.

And in spite of what you feel in your innermost heart...the Radicsl Islamic is the enemy and not the Republicans.

I can predict that if Iran does try to log a missle or sneak in a dirty bomb....you will be the first to hide and lament on the lack of protection your government has provided you.

Wake up....quit believing the BS that the liberal left spoonfeeds you and get some manly parts.

I don't have to tout McCains superiority in this race because Hillary and Obama are doing it for me.

And as far as ignoring your posts....I would never do that....your cut and paste mindless comments have to be challenged. And as far as you ignorning mind...now Mike, even if you tried you know you could never do that.

OBAMA: "I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialog, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Reverend Wright that are at issue."

So Obama, this is why you refuse to place your hand over your heart during the national Anthem?

This is why you refuse to wear a flag lapel pin?

This is why your wife has never in her adult life been proud of her country until her husband is running for president?

This is why your wife's papers she wrote in college espouse the very same ideals talking about "White oppressors" and such?

This is why you are friendly with Bill Ayers of the weather underground who admits to bombing the Capitol, the Pentagon, and the NYC Police Headquarters, and as recently as 2001 (ON 9/11) state that he didn't do enough and should have done more?

You denounce Wrights words?

I CALL BULL**** on that!

Your "denouncement" is a little too little and a little too late.Your denouncement smacks of empty talk when your words and actions and associations prior to it strangely show that you support and believe the Pastors message. You cannot have us believe you when you claim you did not know his leanings when you have PROUDLY announced that Pastor Wright is your friend, your spiritual guide, Mentor and inspiration for 20+ years.

Change? Change to what many ask but you won't say...

Change away from the growing equality of races back to how it was prior to the 60's but with the difference being that this time around it will be the black oppressors of the whites?

And the only democrat to speak up so far (Mike) does his level best to minimalise and distort. You failed Mike. You cannot dismiss away this as meaningless, or irrelavent

So if you are so committed to Africa. (and I might say not one word about the USA or as the Pastor would say "the US of KKKA")

I got one question for you and I will ASK it now.. or should I say AKS it now?

Why are you here in the USA?You are more than free to go back to Africa.

I'll gladly drive you to the Airport free of charge.

So this man who would be president is in a church who hates America and is totally and no-nonnegotiable committed to Africa.

we should vote for him?

Quit being disingenuous southtexas, you would never vote Democrat regardless..... you're merely using your post try to get others to agree with you and vote Republican.
John McCain had the nomination for about two weeks, and I have yet to see a post, telling us how great he is going to be for this country......
Want four more years of the George W. Bush administration, vote John McCain.

Southtexas, I never expect you to agree with me nor nor do I expect you to understand what I went through ,so spare me your condescending attitude. I don't like you, don't respect you, and this is a rare day that I even pay attention to you. So again, ignore my post and I'll continue to ignore yours..... to me. You're just another serial misinformer, a vain know it all.

You are definitely going to get change with McCain...my god....he is so close to being a democrat that it makes my skin crawl.

Ya gotta come up with a different slogan Mike....the four more years of Bush is wearing real thin.

Looking at Obama and listening to what his core beliefs have to be makes four more years of Bush look damn good. I happen to feel that Bush has done a damn good job....We will never know...but I would be willing to bet with Green Al in power, we would have had more Islamic attacks on our soil than just 9/11.

And Mike.....I hardly think your comparison of "guilt" by association.....Obama's situation versus you staying at a church where the priest's criminal tendencies had been hidden has absolutely no revelance.

You did not know the priest was a pedophile, the church people were not involved in the coverup....In Obama's case he has been associating with a congregation who supports this radical racist, anti-American pastor fully for 22 years. He has to have known his thoughts and beliefs....and he just flaunts along the campaign trail like this is something someone is not going to notice.

I admit....it took the people long enough. From the First time I looked at the church's website I was aghast!

Politics and Religion are always going to be connected and in my opinion they both have their share of "sleaze"

Religion like government....when the organization is large and large sums of money are available for use....the roaches crawl.

We have seen it happen over and over again. This is to say nothing against the congregations...people join these large churches with good faith and good will...give their money freely and then are taken to the cleaners as though they had dealt with the lowest of criminals.

I think big religion is just as bad as big government.

However, in this case....it is obvious that Obama has, since his college days, denied the half of his legacy that is not black and sought the more radical black movements. He mentions his grandmother in Africa repeatedly in his campaigns (growing up he did not even see her), but never speaks of his white grandmother in Hawaii who actually raised him and provided his fine education.

I have said it before and I will say it again...this guy scares the bejesus out of me.

People on the fence, don't make it so difficult.
If you like the like last seven years of the George W. Bush, then you will get exactly the same by voting for John McCain....I heard most of his rhetoric in debates and on stump speeches. No Differance....Now that is politics without religion.

Why not cut out all the tax exempt statuses and then they can yammer all they want. I bet if that happens, they'll stick to religion and not religion and politics.

Guilt by association.I can understand what Barack Obama is going through. When it was revealed that my church, merely relocated priest accused of pedophilia, instead of turning them into the authorities, I had to explain why I remained in the church.

What Pastor Jeremiah Wright said was way over the line, but he has now retired and is no longer spiritual adviser to the Barack Obama campaign. Mr. Obama should've known if he would run for the president of United States ;his pastor’s controversial statements would be used against him. He should've known he would be held to a double standard, because John McCain has the very same people he called “agents of intolerance” in the year 2000 in his camp. Mr. Obama going on the Keith Olbermann show yesterday condemning, rejecting and denouncing the rhetoric of Pastor Jeremiah Wright will not help him with those voters on the fence.

Pastor Jeremiah Wright is an ex-Marine who has deep personal resentments, and I have no reason to believe Barack Obama carries. So far Barack Obama has been carrying the new young independent voters, who see this for what it is.

Dana Milbank of the Washington Post offered a suggestion. “Why not hold an amnesty on the comments of the crazies in Hillary's, Obamas, and McCain’s camp?”

Frankly, I am tired of these blowhards speaking hate and politics from behind their pulpits. Somewhere, God is shaking his head and wondering how his word is being spread.I learned a long time ago that God is available in rice paddies, in the middle of LZs, etc.I don't think He intended for his teachings to be bent in the way all these yo-yos do.

BTW, does anyone know what is happening in Iraq and Afganistan? Oh yeah, American Idol is on and look, it's Britney and Paris.

now I admit I'm not the smartest guy around...but his wife has not been "proud" of America until now, despite the opportunities she has been provided which could not have occurred in most countries around the world, his preacher--well, need I say more? and his muslim middle name and no telling what other connections that implies. What more is needed to see what is going on here?

As I was flipping through the channels I noticed that Anderson Cooper on CNN made this the subject of his show. He had a guest panel speaking for all sides and ran the clips over and over. Sure didn't look good for Obama's campaign.

Was he there when he said it, I don't know but he HAD TO know he said it. You find out what your pastor says if it is something different if you actually BELONG to a church like he did. They were married there, had his children baptized there, gave tens of thousands of dollars to it, etc.. When you have a pastor that says things that are so wrong in your belief you get up and go find another church if the pastor is going to stay the spiritual leader there.

Michelle Obama has hinted in some of her talks about perhaps agreeing with the preachings going on there. And for him to honor a racist such as Louis Farrankan is far and away over the line. Imagine the uproar if John McCain's pastor, which is NOT John Hagee, would have honored David Duke, WOW. All the main stream media that is so quiet now would be 24/7 talking about it. Just goes to show whose side they are on.

This leads to the mans very soul, his go to guy in times of distress and figuring out what is right and wrong. I saw the pastor on Fox Hannity and Colmes a year ago explaining himself, or shall I say trying to explain himself. So they cannot say this is a new thing.

We do not need a president of a certain group. We need a president who is FOR the United States people, All Of Us.

What I find so distressing is that there are so many Americans that are fed up with so many of the policies of the current administration on everything from the war to the economic problems, to the massive health care problems that they are grabbing hold of the "Change" that Obama is calling for with little or no knowledge of exactly what this "change" is or who this man really is. I also think that that has been the detering factor among Democrats who have waited until the last minute to decide who they are going to support. I am all for change and I do think that we have many corruptions and self-serving politicians holding offices in our government that warrant some change, but as for me there has just always been something about this man that I just couldn't put my finger on enough to cast my vote for him. Growing up in the 70's in a small town, I have never considered myself prejudice and have good friends from all races, but it seems to me that it is not so much the anglos that are pushing the boundaries of race issues (although there are still many older anglo Americans who grew up before the civil rights movements of the 60's that do) but this racial hatred is coming from the young African Americans, like Quantam X and others. We will never overcome racisim in this country if we ALL don't learn to respect each other. I must say that this does not help Barack's stance any especially with the older anglo voters in our country. With the way he has commented on this minister in his book, I am not sure what I can believe from him now. And the plot deepens....

wow.... I'm thinking "big trouble" might be an understatement.

I have to admit that I believed - and still do - that Obama is misguided in his politics but nonetheless a well-meaning political candidate. I also have to admit that this news is unsettling to say the least and has certainly lowered my estimation of his veracity.

I could believe anyone could join an organization, including a church, that professed his own style of religion without full konwledge of the leader's philosophical or religious foundations. But to be a member of that body for over 20 years and to admittedly see - and assumably socialize with - that leader as "an uncle" without a least having a clue that he held such deep seated hatred of the US, belies credibility.

Still, I have some clients I call on that, for the most part, I like and enjoy visiting with. Sadly there are a couple of these with whom I share the kinship of long careers in the oilfields but whose social views are still rooted in the prejudices of fifty years past. I am dismayed that these otherwise decent, hard working men and women harbor such ill feelings toward others who have, to my knowledge, never personally done these people harm and almost certainly have never done so as a racial group. While I'm obviously not in a position to lecture these few individuals on their prejudices, I can say that I've never agreed with their positions nor said anything encouraging such philosophies or agreeing with them.

On the other hand, I certainly wouldn't join a church started by one of them.

I do indeed think this could throw some momentum in Hillary's direction... and I'm afraid I find that even more distressing.

Ernie

How Obama was in this pastor's church for twenty years and never heard any of these controversial statements is incredibly interesting and telling about his judgement.

Why does it take Fox News to shed light on what the pastor has said for Obama to finally be cognizant of it? I don't care if it's CNN that aired it- the man's own words speak quite loudly and explicitly.

This pastor turned "God bless America" into "God ---- America" and repeated it several times. This pastor married Obama and his wife, and baptized his kids. This is the pastor who could support the next president of the U.S.?Wow... I think this could change the electoral landscape in November.

I hate to say I told you so, but from the minute I cruised Obama's church's website.....I was aghast....

I could not figure out how Obama was being given a pass on all this radical ideology and Romney was getting the third degree about being a Mormon.

Obama has attended this church for 22 years.....and now he is throwing up his hands and saying he has had no inclination of this pastor's stance or foundation of belief.

The pastor compares 9/11 to our bombing Japan....in essence saying we deserve what we got, and that is just the beginning.  The press has finally got hold of the sermons and they are everywhere.  You can't tell me that these hateful, biased, racist messages were just an occasional thing....the rest of the time he only preached about Christian love.   I am insulted that Obama really thinks the average U.S. citizen is that stupid!!!

This is the church's website:
