let's see how many kids that excel at MHS leave for STJ/Calhoun/Goliad/Cuero either in athletics or UIL. These parents know what is going on and keep up with issues.

A "victoriadore" board --- we will be a laughing stock AGAIN. Is Jaynes going to keep up most of his practice.

Keep Keeling -- she is the incumbent c'mon Dist#5 you are in control of OUR FUTURE in VISD.

I would like to know how the counters did on the MATH section of the SAT back in the day.

didn't Jaynes say he wants to stop all the "bickering" on the school board? hahaha. He should talk to his friend Bernie, seems like he's the only one bickering on the school board.

Wow. This soap opera gets better everyday. Victorians, politics are alive and well in our fair city. Assuming the facts listed in this article played out as written, for a second week in a row it will not be a good “Weekend at Bernie’s”. I have the utmost respect for Mr. James Murphy. It is clear why he is the senior leader on this team. He was not about to give in to the apparent strong arm tactics of Mr. Klimist and Co. that seemed to be in play here. Thank you Mr. Murphy for doing the right thing. Ms Smith stated her reasons for abstaining from any voting, point taken. However, why did Ms De Los Santos abstain from the president’s vote but vote on the other two positions? Did she explain her position but it just wasn’t printed? Just wondering?

I haven’t agreed with everything this board has done, but I do have to say that we are moving in the right direction with the current leadership. With $159million worth of projects on the horizon, it is no time to start making power plays and fracturing the team.

For all of you sports fans out there, let me give you a scenario. You’re a team owner (taxpayer). There is a team you’ve had your eye on and you noticed that they have spent years building a good coaching staff (board members) and they finally landed one of the best Head Coaches available (Mr. Moore). Knowing that you have confidence in the team’s leadership, you offer $159million for the team and it’s accepted. Your coaches work tirelessly to build a successful program and you finally make it to the playoffs (our current situation). All of a sudden after much of the hard work is done and everyone’s got a common goal, a new inexperienced coach (Jaynes) that never attended one of your meetings, thinks he needs to join the team because he’s tired of all the bickering within the coaching staff. You’re stunned, because you haven’t heard of any bickering. From everything you witnessed, things are moving right along. On top of that, the defensive coach (Klimist) thinks he can do a better job than the Assistant Head Coach (Walden). Some of the other coaches want to stay the course for the good of the team, but others don’t know who to side with. Now, all of a sudden we have chaos and the success of your investment looks a little dicey. You call for a meeting (election time) and you send a strong message as the owner: “I’m the owner…I’m in charge and all this petty stuff means nothing. Since they have shown they can get the job done, I’m going with the coaching team that got me here and I expect nothing but the best from each of you. As for Coach Keeling….you’ve done all the necessary hard work so put your game face on and grab your clipboard…the game is about to start.”
