Shooting somebody in the back just seems wrong to me.
Joe Horn shoot and killed these people by shooting them in the back.

While I agree with your sentiments, maybenot, I certainly hope we utilize lethal injection much more frequently than you find need of a period!
I'm far from being in favor of "gun control" but just as far from the completely unfettered right of every citizen to cherish his or her own Sherman Tank or equivalent. Obviously it'd be better if we could restrict that ownership only to the sane and relatively intelligent ones (and, one would assume, those with relatively good aim as well) but who can say Bubba Joe doesn't enjoy his deer hunting or when John Q. Stockbroker will go over to the dark side?

Christina....sorry but this story totally sucks. You ask gunshop owners for a pro response and then ask people who have lost a family member to a crime on the con side. Amazingly unprofessional, biased, and erroneously weighted. Why not ask a series of people on the street about gun ownership if you want a meaningful article....some women, some men, some in suits, and some in jeans.
The day we lose the right to own and carry guns as citizens is the day we might as well hang it up. Every country that has outlawed guns has faced a significant increase in crime. Ask someone from Australia about how well the gun ban is going there. First of all, most of the Aussies hid and kept their guns, and even so crime has increased significantly.
If you are a bad guy, walking into the mall to hold up the jewelry store in Victoria, Tx.....you can just look around you at the crowd and figure there are at least one or two law-abiding, fingerprinted, background checked, shooting proficiency tested citizens in that crowd with a gun who just might decide to stop you from taking something that is not yours. And God Bless them!
Without a Right to Carry Law, the bad guy knows that there is no one in the crowd, except perhaps another criminal with a gun.....so he is gonna go after the loot.
It has been said over and over again...Guns don't kill people; people kill people. In 2005, about 1 out of every 136 U.S. residents was incarcerated either in prison or jail. That number has reportedly increased. There are a lot of bad guys out there.....we need to work at doing something about the problems that have caused the increase in crime...i.e., family instability, poverty, drugs, alcohol, poor or absent rehabilitation programs, etc., etc., instead of worrying abut taking away guns that the law abiding citizen can use to protect their home and family.

Guns do not kill or hurt by themselves so why attack guns it is the people that kill there are a lot of law abiding citizens that own guns and they own them for a lot of reasons for protection and for sport I don't think we need gun control we need to get the criminals off the street and behind bars. The criminals that kill should given the death penalty and it should be done within 1 or 2 years they should not be allowed to sit on death row for more than 2 years. We have inmates that have been on death row for over 20yrs and that is money out of our pockets to care for them so leave gun control alone and get rid of the criminals then we will not need gun control.
