50th Anniversary Coy and Glenda
Coy and Glenda Pat Kirkpatrick of Victoria, Texas celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 3rd, 2011 with a Family and Friends Celebration at Goose Island State Park in Lamar, Texas. Coy was born and grew up in Elkins, West Virginia to Luther Coy and Beatrice Kirkpatrick, and Glenda Pat was born and grew up in Rockport, Texas to Ingle Willie and Jimmie (Nanny) Turner.
Coy and Glenda met while Coy was stationed in Rockport, Texas while serving in the United States Air Force. Coy and Pat have two children who coordinated the Reception at Goose Island State Park, along with a previous trip to Elkins, West Virginia this fall, to celebrate with family and friends there. They are Christy Dawn Uhl of Lake Jackson, Texas and Craig Scott Kirkpatrick of Victoria, Texas. The couple also has six grandchildren; Lindsay Uhl, Brittany Slaughter, Bethany Uhl, Ashley Slaughter, Brooke Kirkpatrick and Taylor Kirkpatrick.
During the Reception and dinner, Coy and Glenda Pat's 50 years together were celebrated by their children and their spouses, all of their grandchildren, and over fifty of their closest family and friends. The celebration was also attended by very special guests of Coy and Glenda Pat; Dallas and Pam Ford from Tivoli, Texas, who have both been by Coy and Glenda Pat's side for more than 50 years.
Coy and Glenda Pat have lived in various cities in South Texas since 1961 when Coy began working for CP&L. They started off in Aransas Pass, followed by Rockport, Victoria, Portland, Edna and Uvalde. The couple then retired to Victoria, where they still reside today.
