32nd Anniversary Earl T. and
Earl T. and Carolyn McConnell of Victoria celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on September 22, 2011. The couple renewed their vows in a private ceremony with Bishop David F. Fellhauer officiating. Greg and Cynthia Brewer hosted the event.
Carolyn Deckert and Earl T. McConnell were married on September 22, 1979 at First Christian Church in Victoria. Carolyn is the daughter of Beth Riley Deckert and the late Frank Ross Deckert. Earl is the son of the late June M. McConnell and Earl T. McConnell Sr.
Earl and Carolyn have 3 children; Michael C. McConnell of Bedord, Brandi C. McConnell Conway along with husband, John Conway of Harlingen, and Travis R. McConnell of Fort Benning, Georgia; and 2 grandchildren; Cash Earl Conway and Cage Michael Conway of Harlingen.
Earl is a dedicated husband and loving father and grandfather. He is a 1975 graduate of Stroman High School. He has been loyal and dedicated employee at AEP (American Electric Power) for thirty-four years as a Class "A" Service Tech. The President of the Board of Directors for the Victoria Federal Credit Union and member for nineteen years. The Treasure for the Victoria West FFA Booster Club. Past President of the Stroman Cheerleading Booster Club, Treasure of the Stroman Football Booster Club, member of the United Way, Boy Scouts of America Assistant Scout master and Treasure, along with the Friends of Scouting Fundraiser Campaign.
Carolyn is a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She is a 1980 graduate of Stroman High School and a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She has been employed at DeTar Hospital for fourteen years. Starting out in the Business office then going back to school and transferring to the Nursing department prior to completing her nursing degree. Carolyn works as an RN BSN on TICU at DeTar Hospital and Triumph/Kindred Hospital. She joined her husband in the various booster clubs as a member of the Stroman High School Cheerleading, Football and the Memorial High School football, and Dance and Drill Team (2007/2008). Carolyn was a committee member of Boy Scout Troops 108 and 113, Girl Scout leader. She is currently a member of the Gabriel Project and Weekend phone line coordinator along with committee chair person fro Recruitment and Retention with the Nursing Leadership/Advisor Committee. She is a member of Saint Mary's Alter Society.
