U.S. flag has rules when to fly at half staff

Editor, the Advocate:

I am a World War II veteran, having served in both the North Atlantic and South Pacific.

In response to Gov. Chris Christie and the state of New Jersey flying the American flag at half mast, in protest, I am flying my U.S. flag upside down.

With all the tens of thousands of heroes who served their country with distinction, and who were never afforded this honor, I feel that someone who abused drugs and alcohol should not receive this high an honor.
