Vidala Veliz Trevino and Richard Garcia, both of Victoria, were married at 2:30 p.m. on December 3, 2011 in Victoria. Justice of the Peace, Loraine Lopez, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of the late Apolonio A. and Maria G. Veliz of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of the late Anastacio and Maria A. Veliz, and the late Tim and Felipa L. Gomez, all of Victoria. The groom is the son of the late Santiago and Lupe Garcia.
Gracelia Ferriola of Round Rock, daughter of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Dorothy L. Garcia of Victoria, daughter of the groom, attended as bridesmaid. Kylie Benavides of Victoria, great-niece of the bride, attended as flower girl.
John Reyna of Tivoli served as best man. Chris Ferriola of Round Rock, son-in-law of the bride, served as groomsman. Honorary groomsman was Chris Trevino of Redmond, WA, son of the bride. Gabriel Ferriola of Round Rock, grandson of the bride, served as ring bearer.
A reception was held following the ceremony at The Oak Room in Olde Victoria. The couple honeymooned in Rockport and Port Aransas, and will travel to Seattle, WA, at a later date.
The couple will reside in Victoria.
The bride attended Victoria High School and is self employed as the owner of Victoria Business Services, and previously owned JT Sheet Metal Fabrication. She is a member of Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce and active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
The groom attended Victoria High School and is employed with Victoria County. He is an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and avid salt-water fisherman and carpenter.
